Dear visitors,

I am looking forward to welcoming you to IASP Sevilla, the 37th IASP World Conference which will explore “The human factor: People, communities and their innovation ecosystems.”

In the new knowledge economy, people, talent and skills are now the most important asset for companies, and to attract world-class talent, innovative companies need world-class environments. Areas of innovation and science parks play a crucial role in creating vibrant, sustainable cities and communities, and in developing attractive places where people want to both work, live and spend time.

In Seville, we will be reflecting on how they go about this: how they integrate education, experimentation, incubation, and innovation in the life of their cities and regions, connecting people to technology and technology to people and building human-centred spaces.

Thank you to PCT Cartuja for welcoming us to their city, and I look forward to hearing your contributions, ideas and insights.

Paul Krutko

Chair of the IASP Board of Directors

Dear delegates,

Seville, Spain, will be the setting for IASP 2020 where we look forward to bringing together experts and practitioners from innovation ecosystems all over the world.

Our host and organiser PCT Cartuja will share their city’s history and culture as well as showcasing all the ways in which they support innovative companies and regional economic development. This year’s theme highlights the intersection between these two aspects, with a focus on the human dimension of our industry.

Just as IASP connects science park and area of innovation managers from all over the world, helping them to share knowledge and form long-term global collaborations, this conference will explore how innovation ecosystems bring people together in their local communities, supporting individuals as they prepare for the jobs of the future, develop competitive businesses and build creative, human-focused spaces. I hope you will be there to join the debate and benefit from the variety of models and perspectives that a network with members in over 70 countries can provide.

The 37th IASP World Conference awaits you in Seville, where we will all be able to make new connections, learn from each other and grow our international community.

Ebba Lund

IASP Chief Executive Officer

Dear visitors,

We are delighted to invite you to the 37th IASP World Conference in October 2020 in Sevilla, in our Science and Technology Park Cartuja.

It is a great honor for us to host the IASP World Conference next year in our home city, where we will all have the chance to discuss and debate topics under a thrilling main theme: “The human factor. People, communities and their innovation ecosystems”.

On the one hand, we will have the pleasure to welcome you in our beautiful and exciting city. Sevilla is a city open to innovation and progress, where tradition and modernity come together. It is intimately linked to its role in history and to its extensive cultural heritage. In the past few years, the city has been transforming itself, creatively blending the value of tradition with generous doses of fresh innovation — all while still maintaining its unique personality, joy, and openness to visitors.

Sevilla is now an exciting European capital filled with pedestrian walkways, bicycle paths, and stylish shops and restaurants. Declared best city to visit in 2018 by Lonely Planet, Sevilla has the largest historical center in Europe.

On the other hand, we will also have the responsibility to organize such a great and high quality event that responds and exceeds all your expectations, and hopefully surprise you somehow.

We will make our best to show you that Sevilla and our region Andalusia are much more than cultural, touristic and gastronomic claim. Our Science and Technology Parks are home to innovation, with cutting-edge research centers, innovative startups and consolidated companies, where highly skilled human teams come together to thrive. Hence, our active participation and leadership in numerous important European and international initiatives.

Sevilla is the right place to discuss people, communities, innovation ecosystems and their future perspectives and so, we look forward to welcome you here in October 2020!
