The Scientific and Technological Park (PTC) is the first international example of reworking the legacy of world exhibition –Seville Expo '92- to transform it into a space connecting Universities, Sciences, and Corporations.
PCT Cartuja is an instrument of public politics focused on the development of local economy and technological growth. The area promotes private investment in R&D + i by emerging as an innovative space where cooperation is the pillar for economic growth. The PCT Cartuja integrates the scientific, technical, and social resources that facilitate the creation, transmission, dissemination, measurement and management of knowledge and its application to productive activities.

The Park is a thriving business, scientific, and technological engine in continuous development. Housing 459 companies and institutions which generate a direct employment of 17,389 professionals and an economic activity of 2,214 million euros according to exercise 2017 (see Sustainability Report 2017).

The activity of PCT Cartuja is closely linked to the Higher School of Engineering of the University of Seville. In addition to this center, the Park hosts the US School of Communication and private university schools (CEADE and San Isidoro University Center), and the International University of Andalusia (UNIA).
The PTC has a vast cultural offer led by the Center of Contemporary Art (CAAC), the Central Theater, the Foundation Three Cultures of the Mediterranean, the SGAE auditorium Rocío Jurado, and the art museum CaixaForum.
Located in the north part of the PCT, the sport area comprises La Cartuja stadium, the island sport facilities, and the Paddling and Rowing high performance specialized center. The major amusement and leisure areas are the Alamillo park, Isla Mágica, Aqua Mágica (summertime).
